You are closer to the truth than you might imagine Lu.
Local hunters and fishermen have been spotting submarines in Cumberland
Sound (which is the next large bay north of Frobisher) for years. It is
plausible too, because Cumberland Sound is very deep.
During WWII, when the Americans set up a weather station here in Frobisher,
as the precursor to the huge airfield they later constructed, one of the men
at the weather station claimed to have seen a U-boat periscope. It caused
quite a stir at the time.
Personally, I think it was aliens.
