Hanno - My idea was that with your pack this would give a system with very few pages that would allow positions to be calculated without electronic aid using both Sun and Stars. I tried to follow the system in the Table 4 Almanac but have a problem with the up/down roundings on time mins & seconds which needs adjustment. One arcinute error equates to up to a one mile positon error as I understand it so we do need time seconds.
I'm now looking at adding the data for 57 stars to make it more useful. These change with time however and whilst the difference over the year is acceptable it's significant over several years. The variation seems to increase with declination so maybe a correction for precession is needed. I suppose with a ditch kit it could be updated each year so the pepetual aspect may not be that important. I'll do an improved version shortly.
