Ditto to everything Sean said ( including apologizing for also running off topic :-) ) I too get a warm fuzzy feeling from seeing 'USNO' on the title page.
I feel like; if they can't get it right, who can? For example; hopefully 'set & drift' is not too far off topic: I used to swear by Eldridge then I tried the NOAA
Current Tables. - No contest! I think NOAA and USNO belong on the bookshelf ( or on your computer) right next to  the latest editions of Bowditch and
Chapman. Always on board (in hard copy form) during the season are: NOAA Current Tables, NOAA Tide Tables, Chart 1, Coast Pilot, CG Nav Rules Inland
& Intl., USNO Nautical Almanac, and HO229 Vol 3 ( never really go above 43° or below 38° ) and lastly my own binder of formulas, nav logs, and things
too important to be left to memory.

I like everything about it. It's bare bones text input/output. No frills, just the information I need. I find it handy for reverse engineering practice problems because it lists the corrections next to the computed data. The daily configuration is handy for setting up a star-finder. I like the format of the data in the output; everything pertinent is right there. I like the reassuring and official looking "U.S. Naval Observatory Nautical Almanac Office" title screen. And I just have an affinity for DOS!

There are a few downsides, I admit. As you say, I think the delta-T value is hard coded...at least I don't know how to change it.. Changing the time could be made easier, instead of having to type the date each time. And selecting a good three body fix is less than trivial. (But that's where the 2102-D comes in handy.)

I've been meaning to try MICA, as I understand it is the successor to ICE and is basically the same program. I just haven't gotten around to ordering it.

As for the emulator discussion, you are absolutely right and I apologize for wandering so far off topic. I have a bad habit of doing that. So much so that in another forum I managed to derail a humorous "off-topic" thread by posting relevant material there. ...smh
