Re: Downloadable papers from Royal Society.

On 18 Sept I wrote to inform NavList members about publications from
the Royal Society, freely downloadable, but only until December. The
most sought information will be that in-
Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society of London 1665 -
1886.
I hear that members have started to tap this source already.
But I have some better news; a contibution from John Westfall, to
Hastro-L (a mailing-list for those interested in the history of
astronomy).
He writes-
"Great news that the RS archives will be free online. Not-so-great
news that (once we're hooked) we start paying for access in December.
On the other hand, the French Bibliothèque National website,
"Gallica", under Périodiques, provides the RS Philosophical
Transactions without charge. (Just Google "Gallica" to get the
website.)
There's a wealth of other material on the BNF website, including the
French Academy of Science (prev. Royal Academy) journals."
So, there's no longer a December deadline, if you get it that way.
I haven't tried accessing material that way myself, yet.
