Greg, Yes. I agree.
But, how about plan (is it plan: D, E or F?) ... I'll just add a larger diameter thumb pressure plate with a longer screw atop the orginal pressure plate. How cool would it be if it was a silver quarter or half dollar coin? A little filing and tapping the hole and I'll get better leverage without munging up a clasic sextant?
As soon as my sun filters arrive, and I dig through my old coins, I might have my grab-n-go vacation sextant.
