EBBCO sextant instructions

I just bought an EBBCO sextant that's different from what I've seen before. The mirrors are mounted on a separate holder with a ball attached to the back. The mount on the frame is split and captures the ball with a piece that spans the ball, and two screws that tend to split the mounting piece. :-(
As far as I can tell so far, the only way the index mirror will mount is with the open edge of the mount pointing down. (In the mirror falling out position.)
Instructions were included that matched the sextant. I've attached those.
