Like that? If you're using the web version of NavList, you must simply copy and paste the pertinent text into your reply. Using the "reply" button above the message you wish to quote keeps the text on screen to facilitate this. There is a "quotes" button on the "compose your message" page which will highlight the quote as I have done above.
As for Earhart, I agree with you. I don't think wanting to discover exactly what went wrong is morbid. It's just a natural part of human curiosity. On the other hand, wanting to know the gory details of exactly how these two unfortunate souls left this mortal coil would be, IMHO. So, maybe "borders on" is not entirely inaccurate.
