The Onion actually has run its own version of the Earhart story.
I am glad you enjoyed this account but I must confess that I did not write it.
I simply fed the entire Purdue University press release into Gemini, and asked for a shorter, satirical version. I am frankly amazed by its sense of humor and ability to extract the absurd elements of this latest expedition.
