Thanks for providing these links to these early Nautical Almanacs you provided. It's quite an eye openner and it's clear that there was no real distinction made between the accuracy required by the Astronomical Ephemeris vs. the Nautical Almanac. The contrast with today's streamlined (or is it dumbed down) NA is striking. Some things that I found noteworthy were
- Position's quote to 0.01" in some cases
- No table of altitude corrections (dip, refraction) or did I just miss them? If they are absent presumably they would have been gotten by consulting your "epitome".
- Description of sight reduction for lunars (although dedicated tables for that purpose were omitted by that time)
