A day of Sun observations with the Ebbco has uncovered the cause of the large spreads in index error and observation intercepts. SLOP IN THE MICROMETER ! The cure for this model of Ebbco is to always go clockwise to meet limbs or horizon. This trick has been discussed before and really helps get the most out of this old plastic sextant.
