I've come across a bit more information on the Ebbco sextant, from UK sources. As the Plastimo Antares, it's offered at www.caleymarineonline.co.uk , at a cost of 102.07 before tax, which is a bit less than US$200. However, what looks like exactly the same thing, and is still named as an "Ebbco sextant" (no mention of Plastimo) is at- sailgb.com , priced at only 68 before tax or they quote $122.40. Does this mean, perhaps, that Ebbco still exists and is producing sextants? Or is this old stock that's being sold off? Who knows? I'll try to discover more.
