Dave Walden, you quoted from 'skyfield python program output':
"Time of maximum eclipse: 2025-09-21 19:42:00 UTC
Sun-Moon separation: 0.9777 degrees
Estimated eclipse magnitude: 0.0000
Approximate location of maximum: Southwest Pacific Ocean
Coordinates: ~61°S, 154°E (Northwest of Young Island, Antarctica)"
That looks good for time and location. Near enough, they match the Wikipedia page for this eclipse. But the separation and magnitude of the eclipse...? Just guessing (without checking): are those geocentric numbers for sep. and magnitude?
The Wikipedia page has already been updated with this observational detail: "Most of New Zealand was covered in cloud on the morning of the eclipse, preventing many sightings".
