I've been a "reader" here since I took The Starpath CelNav course nearly 10 years ago. I struggled to learn practical sextant use using a couple of artificial horizon methods, but was always left frustrated.
I would be very interested to know your system of tripods and laser level for using a marine sextant away from a natural horizon.
