Apols if you have received this from 2 sources, but it is an urgent
    request needing wide distribution.

This summer, BBC TV is making a series of 6x50-minute programmes on Capt
James Cook and Endeavour. These will focus on a voyage by the Endeavour
replica from Cairns to Jakarta, setting out on 25 August for about 6
    weeks.

Although the crew will be in modern clothing, everything else will be
    authentic for the period.

The producer urgently needs a navigator (male or female) for the trip.
He/she will need to use the genuine nav instruments, with long-hand
calculations - all under the close scrutiny of the cameras. The only
GPS on board will remain switched off and locked in the captain's cabin!
    The
navigator will be one of the few on board with a cabin; it seems that
the job could perhaps be given to a couple if both were genuinely doing the
job. All expenses will be paid by the BBC and there may be payment
    available
    for loss of earnings.

The BBC producer, who had not previously heard of RIN, had tried to get
a navigator elsewhere - but had been advised by the other potential
    sources to contact us.

Anyone interested pse contact the Institute asap. Its certainly the
opportunity of a lifetime - with a bit of fame thrown in!
