Thank you for all of that Frank, I actually bought this thing thinking it was an old piece of radio equipment. I used some of that old equipment when I was young and in high school. When I discovered what it was I started looking for information on it. The information I received here was way over my knowledge level and I am a bit overwhelmed by it all. Thus the might re-home it statement. Actually I haven't decided because the history and rarity of it is still pretty darned cool. We will see.
i get what you are saying about the value too. I find it pretty hard to believe it could be worth anywhere near that amount myself but who knows. You also need to know where to sell it and I do not. I do find it pretty cool that Howard Hughes used one in his round the world flight. I am finding a little more about that story and loving it. Seems he was the only civilian allowed to use one. And I would love to find out what the serial number was on the unit he used. If anyone knows a way to find out that info it would be much appreciated. Looking at this thing it seems like a lot of input to get to the output. So we will see what happens after I can find out all I can find out about it. I appreciate your input as well as the others because it all adds to the story about it.
