Ok initial experiments with a very cheap phone to monocular attachment fastened to the screw that clamps the monocular fork. Verdict is with some fiddling it could work, and the bit that attaches to the phone is great. I think a 3D printed fork like the one on the monocular would be better. Several issues, collimaton is key and that needs more rigidity, my Samsung S21 has three front cameras, telephoto, standard and wide. It switches when you zoom and then you need to realign. Fixing the focus and exposure is necesssry otherwise it focuses on bits of sextant not infinity.
If you had a sight tune or monocular that happened to fit your phone adapter that seems like a good solution. But when I tried that it was not ridgid enough. Maybe a bracket using the tripod attachment on the adapter braced to the sextant would be the way to go. Sorry for the bad photos. I will get another camera to photography the rig. And try again.
