I have added a simple tangent screw mechanism to my Davis 111 a la the old Vernia sextants. Gives accurate movement.Takes only a few minutes to make and cost pennies. I think it improves accuracy but have not done scientifically valid tests to prove this. Pictures to follow soon when I have time after Easter week end extended family gathering! I think the Davis 111 is great for most things .Frankly ,I only need the Astra B for lunars.
