That's interesting. I've seen your guy listed as Capt Ernst Lehmann. See https://facesofthehindenburg.blogspot.com/2009/10/captain-ernst-lehmann.html I suspect the internet is littered with copy and pastes, back to front negatives, and swapped labelling. If we went through enough photographs, we'd probably get a good idea who the chap with the sextant was, but it wouldn't be easy. I did this about ten years ago, but I can't remember my results.
