Just watched Hindenburg: The Cover-Up. There's one (nice) scene (S1 E1 15:37) where a C. Plath sextant is being used. It does not appear to use an artificial horizon, not that I can tell, anyway. At one point it is indicated that they are at an altitude of 650' Accurate enough Eye Height for a regular sight reduction?
