INS (inertial navigation systems) were apparently first introduced on commercial aircraft around the time of the 747 launch. Maybe that's what you were thinking?
Or, if we broaden Ed's question to "first commercial aircraft equipped with a global radio navigation system", Omega might be the best bet. It would have been usable starting around 1970. Conceivably Transit would have been possible too, but the computation requirements and hassle factor might have been too much in 1970, even for a large aircraft with dedicated personnel.
Cheers,
Peter
