Robin,
I am very happy with my beam compass. The clear and crisp scales of yours do very well.
So don't worry about cursors. But there is no hurry - I'm in Lisbon, Portugal. No time to tinker mit Bygraves.
BTW: I may have been over-detailed y'day but writing all down gave me an opportunity to think things oover

I made a cursor on my inkjet to use with Gary's flat bygrave. I simply printed a thin line vertically on a 3M transparency in portrait orientation, then folded the top and bottom edges to fit snugly around the larger scale. (I had trimmed the small scale already to make it easier to move around.)
