Does anyone know the story of an Air Force flight surgeon who died (I think in the 1960s) aboard a KC-135A when a fuselage window blew out as he was examining the "bulge" that had recently distorted the window? He wasn't sucked out of the aircraft, but his upper body sealed the space and he died instantly. When I flew in the KC, that was the explanation for the iron cross bars on each of the windows aft of the cockpit.
