Re: Fluids for Bubble Sextants and Sealing Methods
    From: Herman Dekker

    Hello Robert,

Any idea how long the A-12 bubble chamber keeps the xylene in, if it is properly sealed?

I have one A-12 bubble chamber with een small screw that has a beveled point in the
bubble chamber there is a beveled drilling that fits the point. It has a normal head for
flat screwdriver. The other bubblechamber has the standard screw with ball.

One other question about the A-12.
There are two filters for the sun, a light and a darker filter.
The problem I have is, that the first filter that can be used, is the darkest filter then the lighter
filter. I think they are mounted reverse?

The former owner must have fiddeled with the sextant, because it is about 13 degrees to low on the scale.

I think I have to disassemble the sextant to solve this problem?

    regards,

    HermanD
