Re: Formatting in spreadsheets (was: learning sight reduction)

More or less the same way you did.
My spreadsheet consists essentially of
three columns: one for whole degrees,
second for minutes with fractions,
third for radians.
Exception in the row where I enter time
it has an extra cell for time seconds.
The rows are of two types: input rows and
output rows. In the input rows I enter
degrees and minutes of my input,
and the formula in the radian cell transfers them
to radians.
The output rows act in the opposite direction.
The radian cell contains some formula for computing
some quanity, like azimuth, altitude, or a distance,
it is computed in radians.
Then the result is translated into degrees and minutes
by a formula in each correspoinding cell of the same row.
I have several spreadsheets for varioius tasks.
(Sun altitudes, stars, planets, star distances and Lunar distances).
The idea to CONCATENATE degrees and minutes in one
output cell did not occure to me:-)
