Fred Espenak died yesterday. He was a leading expert on solar eclipses, famous for his exceptionally detailed and exact computations of the ephermides and circumstances of eclipses, active as recently as three months ago. Known as "Mr. Eclipse", Espenak was also a famous eclipse fanatic who had travelled the globe to see dozens and dozens of total solar eclipses and every other variety of eclipse that he could find. He wrote many books on eclipses encouraging the sport of eclipse-chasing that he enjoyed so much. Rather than attempt a partial list, I will point you to a search on abebooks:
