Peter Monta you wrote: Thanks for posting this.  It was a bit too early to see in real time here in UTC-7 land, but I plan to watch once it hits YouTube.  There are intangibles in presentations like this that are hard to get from, say, journal papers.

It'll be on YouTube, but it's bound to take a couple of days before it appears.  I’ll let you know when it does.  The Q&A will appear on a RIN Blog.  Ramsey's an exceptionally good lecturer.  No maths, but lots of easy cartoons of time v amplitude v phase which turned 3D into 2D particularly well.  Being Ramsey, he also solved the cursor pointer problem, which webinars seem to find difficult.  I loved his dancing bullet point.  It was much better than the 'white board' marker I had to use use. He gave a very good explanation of why multipath can have a greater effect on accuracy than you’d ever have imagined it would.  My grandma could have followed it.  This problem is not entirely relevant to open space navigation, but it’s very relevant in the urban situation, which is where the mass-market development opportunities are (and money is).  He also suggested an alternative approach to ‘spoofer’ locating. The next webinar 25th June might be more up sailing member’s street. https://rin.org.uk/events/EventDetails.aspx?id=1386925&group= DaveP
