There is an easy way to get the Moon's Merian passage where you are, using (initially) any of the many web almanac resources. One excellent option is Bill Ritchie's excellent Astron web page:

Enter your longitude and date/time, then look in the bottom right hand corner where Astron displays the day's Moon's Merdian passage, calculated for your longitude.
Do that maybe once a week, write the one answer down on a beer mat, then 'interpolate' in your head remembering that the Moon turns up approximately 3/4 hour later every day.
