I push this app on the mates on my ship for easy azimuth sights. No need to worry about time and recording or going to the computer to calculate it. Just take the sight, hit pause on the app and you have instant gyro error. They do have to do the quick calculation for magnetic deviation, but they'd have to do that in any case.
Getting them to pick up the sextant is a whole other battle that I tend to lose.
