Sorry, Geoffrey, the limited facts recommend a simpler solution. Look at the charts/map. Given where the (small? Unidentified?) Vessel was, it is certain otvwas both observed and suspicious in the eyes of local authorities.
it would not be surprising that they would find it convenient to hobble you a bit navigationally while monitoring your radio transmission while sorting out the identity and intentions. Remember, GPS transmissions are one Billionth of the transmission power of your cellphone. It is trivial to jam rhe carrier wave frequency for GPS locally. It is by far more likely that three independent GPS receivers sumultaneously wenr on holiday and then coincidentally returned to service. Occam''s Razor: he was jammed.
