Ganimede through a 30*6 scope?

Hello!
Looking at Jupiter through a 30*6 monocular I noticed a tiny star approximately ~4~6 planet diameters away in the "8 o'clock" direction.
I can't find any reliable source on Jovian moons' positions to [dis]prove it was one of the moons rather than a real star. An app on my smartphone however tells me that three of the four largest moons are all to the east of Jupiter (and Io is to the west).
Could I have seen Ganimede indeed - or 30*6 (even on a tripod) is far too weak for that?
Regards,
Tony
