I have a book called Encylopaedia of Aviation published in 1935. In a section dealing with celestial navigation I found this paragraph:
"The Godsave Hour Angle Difference Tables, which interpolate altitudes in Davis's Altitude Azimuth Tables, save the navigator calculation in the air, and can be used to solve the data for a position line with the minimum of figures and delay."
I am guessing that the difference tables eliminate the need to use an assumed position. I do not have a copy of Davis's Altitude Azimuth tables (but would like to get hold of one).
A quick google of "godsave" does not reveal anything to do with navigation or mathematics. My question is does anyone have any information on the Godsave Difference tables?
