Has anyone tried to pin the North and South Poles in Google Globe yet?  The South Pole is easy.  There’s a tiny little white dot.  The North Pole is harder.  Disappointingly, there isn’t a scaffolding pole sticking up with a flag on it.  However, if you look very carefully in satellite, while turning the globe slightly you’ll see a number of very dim ‘2019 Google’s in concentric circles about the pole.  Also, very close to the pole there are some lightly paler light blue circles about the pole.  The distance from my office at 53N 10’N to the pole is 4096km for a spherical Earth and 4109km for a WGS84 Earth.  The Google Globe distance, as near as I can measure it is 4097km, so it looks like Google are using a spherical Earth for Globe.  Therefore, there are possibilities for playing around with celestial PZX triangles on it.  Who’ll be the first to try?  DaveP
