Graphite grease for sextant?

Hello everyone,
after some searching and browsing the net, I decided to ask for some Graphite Grease from my auto-mechanic. He was kind enough to get me a small dose for free.
The intention is to grease some parts of the sextant with it, to ensure slow-motion (with somewhat resistance, i.e. for index magnifier).
Does anyone have any experience with this specific kind of grease? (before I apply)
