    Re: Greenwich date and time?

I am a little surprised there are no replies to this post. I did think someone would have the Blewitt book but in any event I think I explained the subject reasonably well. On many occasions when we adjust local zone time to GMT/UTC we will discover the date is also different at Greenwich. If anyone has a watch set at GMT the question does not arise but if watch set at zone time it would seem reasonable to note the time from the watch (zone time) then adjust for GMT. Upon discovering there is a date change it needs to be noted.

I am just trying to learn Celestial Navigation and would appreciate it someone could advise me of best practice in this regard.

Look forward to at least one reply.

    Thanks

    Mike
