    To summarise the rudder control gear on the rail ferry Aratere had been renewed but the crew were not fully trained.  The new equipment worked differently to the old equipment.  Within 31 sec (I think that was the number) of the ship making an unplanned  turn to port the bridge crew realised what had happened and immediately tried to turn off the auto pilot and take over manual control. They failed and the ship grounded at low speed. It was re-floated a few days later with no damage. There were no casualties which is in contrast with  the 737 Max crashes.
