Does pumping an already stable gyro disturb it? Yes, and it takes three minutes to settle completely.
How does the gyro react to a sidewise (along the horizontal plane) acceleration? It stays stable and one cannot sense any opposing force, which is not to say that there may not be one, though it must be pretty small
Did lubricating the bearing increase or decrease the time needed for the gyro to settle in? Neither, and there is no effect on the time vs RPM graph. If you shift the red graph (without oil) to the right so both start at the same rpm there is practically no difference.
