    Possibly, though the way it's written I took it to mean that this was the
    first time that the (former?) publication called "Sight Reduction Tables for
    Marine Navigation" had been released as H.O. 249.

    I was thinking that 229 went back even further (to maybe shortly after
    WWII?), though it's been long enough since I've seen a reference to the
    initial publication date that I'm not really sure.
