Vis a vis my previous post. Some equations like cos(x)=x are very easily solved using Mathematica. They have an Alpha version which will do these kinds of equations quite simply. It's downloadable to iPhone,Android and it is also available on the web. I believe the web based version is free. It's terrific at interpreting what you're trying to do. Sort of Siri for nerds. Try it.
Finally, the illustrations I posted have some errors. I'd remove them, but don't know how!
