I don't have more experience that you except my registration worked first time.
Where did you run into trouble? I assume you were able to get the new registration page. It's the usual stuff, name, email, country etc.
It seems you can not browse HarvardX's courses or look at their outlines unless you have registered. Registration does not mean you have signed up for the class, that's an additional step and you have to decide if you will audit it for free or take it for a certificate which I think this course is $45.
edX is a consortium of worldwide universities. Harvard and MIT were founders. The link I posted is to HarvardX's site though you could come to it via edX worldwide.
Sorry I'm not much help here.
