Brian - very glad to hear that! Your post reminded me that I had wanted to make one and I just ordered some welding glass to that end.
I might go with some very dense neutral density camera filters instead once I get past the prototype stage. the camera things are much more expensive than a small piece of welding glass, so build a little, test a little, break a little, repeat.
