Matthew,
I have just done a sample haversine Doniol sight reduction using the 5 place tables to then compare to a smart phone app as a check. Latitude 27° 42 N Declination 27° 22 S and LHA 0° 31'. The haversine Doniol Hc worked out to 34° 55.8' and the smart phone app worked out to 34° 55.9'. So don't beat yourself up with all those extra places.
Haversine Doniol wasn't developed for the Sumner time sight LOP . For the Sumner line I would use the Ageton Classic tables and the time sight formula. There is a 5 place natural sin cos and 6 place log custom table in PDF somewhere in the archive for reductions to the tenth of a minute. As I recall the tables came to less than 8 pages front and back.
