Plotting a LOP has nothing to do with lat or long. You plot a LOP from a point, call it your AP, along the azimuth to or from the body, for so many nautical miles then draw the LOP at right angles to the azimuth. It will look the same in Greenland as a LOP in the Gulf of Mexico. A nautical mile is the same whatever the latitude and an azimuth is the same no matter the longitude.
What half degee different are you talking about? Most errors in plotting come from the widith of the pencil lead and drawing a portion of a round line of position as a straight line.
