Linked are images of a 45° horizontal sextant angle plot using a course plotter, divider compass, and straight edge (parallel rule). The radius point on the chart is determined with the least amount of plot clutter. The center point between marks A and B can remain on the chart permanently for future plots. Only the arc of position near the course track DR needs to be plotted. This technique would be used when three fixed terrestrial navigation marks are not available for the three arm position pointer.
