Reminds me of an old quip from the late 1960s in which an American humour magazine was poking fun at Canada and our apparent quirks:
------------
Why is Canada always coloured red on globes?
From embarrassment.

How the world has changed during my lifetime! ( for the better, no doubt). Notice that much of the world was still painted red then,(Including India, so presumably a pre-independance globe). Wonder what it will look like in 50 years time? We live in interesting and changing times!
