I have attached my very untidy work sheet. You will note that I originally calclulated Hc = 49° 6.5' and then changed it to 65° 45.9'.
Another thought...........
If I had been on JST2 and had been using my sextant I would have known that the altitude of the sun was approximately 49° and so would have detected my error. Unless, that is, I was the navigator who lost situational awareness and ignored his magnetic compass while flying across north Africa ( OTTOMH I cannot remember the flight number).
