Attached is the completed Hp Doniol with plot using Catalina Island airstrip as an assumed position. A MK V Navy bubble octant was used to take observations of the Sun on the minute of each precalculated Hp (from Channel Islands Harbor). The Hs is then directly compared with the Hp to get an intercept for immediate plotting. Everything was done without electronics except for a quartz watch. Each LOP was plotted within a minute of observation aviation style.
