Maybe mine is has a different assembly process. The filter shade is right near the peep hole. The eyepiece looks like a 2 X piece threaded construction. That looks like it screws apart. The grey paint might be locking the threads. I am going to try and unscrew the assembly. It appears that the clear magnified lens on mine is in front of the green shade. I cant see how I can push the magnified lens out to remove the filter. I will try and see if it is possible.
