Yes, Paul
That is really unfortunate that the IMCCE (new) staff do not stand to the Bureau des Longitudes former reputation ! It should not be difficult at all for them to get their results and their facts 100% right ...
They simply just do not seem to care !
This is especially true when I compare the apparent IMCCE "laziness" (no more appropriate term found) with the quick reaction a few months back from the Strasbourg SIMBAD Software Engineers and Astronomers who corrected their Star catalogs in just a few days once advised and convinced of wrong results. They had been dealing with stars proper motions incorrectly since p.m.'s were temporarily and erroneously multiplied by a factor of 2 in their reductions from HIPPARCOS 1992.5 into ICRS 2000.0 reference plans.
Best Regards to all
and thank you again Paul,
Kermit
Regarding IMCCE, I still might hit another (red) button at a (much) higher level ...
