For those who do not know where the Rimutaka Hill Road is it is approximately 23nm NE of Wellington City and 6nm ENE of where I live.
The photo with the bridge in the background was probably taken near 41° 06.403' S 175° 17.512' E.
The other group photo would have been taken somewhere between Featherston (41° 06.784' S 175° 18.887' E) and the western side of the Rimutaka Hill at 41° 04.781' S 175° 12.263' E.
Recently the pass at the top of the hill was renamed Remutaka but the road and the hill are still known as Rimutaka.
