Image size versus focus

I think I'm straightened out on focus for AH use. But I shot a 4 body sight run with open tube of Saturn,Mars,Jupiter & Capella with average "a" of 0.07. (.1+.1+.1+.0) could the accuracy be related to the un-magnified image decreasing ambiguity in aligning the sight?
